Lemon Bars
Description
Delicious sweet lemony cookies that have a gooey top and a flour base. A perfect dessert idea!Ingredients
Crust
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup confectioners' sugar, plus more for dusting
Pinch salt
2 sticks butter, at room temperature, plus more for greasing
Filling
4 eggs
2 cups granulated sugar
6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
15 packets True Lemon
6 tablespoons water

Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9 by 13 by 2-inch pan.
- Make the crust by combining the flour, confectioners sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Cut in the butter to make a crumbly mixture. Press the mixture into the prepared pan. You may need to dip your fingers into a little flour or confectioners' sugar to keep the dough from sticking to your fingers. Bake for 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, to make the filling, mix the eggs, granulated sugar, flour, True Lemon and water. Pour this over the baked crust and bake for 25 minutes longer. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar, if desired, when the bars are done.

I needed some lemon bars for meeting tomorrow and used this recipe. They turned out GREAT!!!! :) :) :) Love using True Lemon, better than using lemon juice!!!!

I used 3 tsp of the True Lemon Shaker (instead of the 15 packets), and the bars came out perfectly... good texture, and natural, true lemon flavor. Excellent recipe!

After finding this stuff in the shaker, I never buy real lemons; to keep on hand these shakers are awesome! I have made this recipe before and it's so good! I'm back for more- this time writing it down!
I have tried the lime crystals, they could use improvement- would love to try this recipe with the lime before I really rule them out tho!:)

check out here: http://www.truvia.com/recipes/tips/ for their baking tips as it is very hard to substitute one for the other but they say they have a conversion chart. The biggest issue is the change in the temp. when cooking and length of cooking time.
